Yesterday evening I attended the opening of the John Cleese sale at the Chris Beetles Gallery. Michael Winner's very witty introduction made it clear that not one penny generated from the sale would be going to his friend, but instead, the entire amount would be finding its way to Alice Faye Eichelberger, his third wife. The 'Alimony Sale' as Mr Winner dubbed it, includes some fine pictures by artists such as Albert Goodwin, Ken Howard, Pamela Kay, Walter Tyndale and Gerald Scarfe. This one is by Ken Howard, entitled, Dora, Reflection. It's well worth a visit, as Mr Cleese has proved over the years to have a good eye for paintings, if not for wives.

hey jeffrey,
That's funny. Hope the wife finds the alimony pleasing enough.
