Some entertainment

I wish to add my two pennyworth to the abandoned Twenty20 cricket match in Manchester on Tuesday evening. I had allocated the evening to watching England play Australia, and had my supper on a tray ready. I must have been among the thousands who were glaring at the tv and shouting, 'Get on with it, you wimps.' Why couldn't they show some imagination and agree that both teams could bowl off 5 paces? Those who follow this blog closely will know the fuss I made about the pathetic West Indian coach in Australia who called his team off with 5 overs to go, as he thought he'd won on the Duckworth Lewis rules, and to hell with the crowd who were enjoying the cricket. He got his comeuppance, because England won the match as he'd miscalculated the tables, but the crowd still went home having been robbed of a real match. If England aren't careful, the 19,500 people who were sent away with the sun shining down on them, may decide that like myself, they don't want to waste an evening wondering if precious young cricketers shouldn't get on with their job. It won't be long before we have footballers who are not willing to play in the rain.

dear mr archer
please do not mention football and cricket in the same context
both as a game and for sheer entertainment the two games are on different planes altogether
i was aghast when someone mentioned that T20 is equivalent to a football match!!!
then i will be george clooney :-)
