Beat Bullying

On Tuesday evening I turned up at Draper's hall to do an auction for BeatBullying. What a pleasure to find the ancient room filled with young people who happily bid against each other for prints and photographs, raising nearly £18,000 for the charity they support. One reads in the press daily of young people going astray, and not caring about service or their behaviour, but perhaps the truth is that when the young do something worthwhile and behave every bit as well, if not better, than the generation before them, it simply doesn't get reported. What a sad world we live in when the press are only interested in bad news. Well done to Richard Barron and his colleagues. You may not make the headlines, but you can be proud of your achievement on Tuesday night.
