Last night I went to the Oval to watch India play Pakistan in a warm-up match before the ICC World Twenty20 competition starts at the end of the week. It turned out to be a one-sided affair because the Pakistan team failed to put enough runs on the board (159) to give the Indians any real challenge. I still feel the Pakistan team should not be underestimated, because if Afridi were to return to his former best, both as a batsman and a bowler, it could have been a very different result. However India must now be considered, along with South Africa and Australia, one of the favourites for this tournament - although my money is still on South Africa. It was wonderful to see a full house at the Oval, with supporters of both teams mixing amicably, and there was no better example than in my box where Sunil Gavaskar and Wasim Akram sat next to each other, although I must confess that Gavaskar couldn't stop grinning. Sport often emphasises great rivalries, but when it's at its best, brings together even the oldest of enemies. Perhaps the politicians from both countries can learn something from this.

Sir, I disagree with U...abt the politicians thing and the way u think that d two nations shd deal wid each other.....We as Indians cannot permit someone(a Nation in this case) to claim JIHAD at the cost of ordinary civilians of this third rock from the sun!
