A quiet weekend in Cambridge where the highlight was a Bible reading at Weston Colville. The pretty village church of St Mary's is in the middle of the Ely Diocese which is celebrating its 900th year with a complete reading of The Bible. I read Samuel II, 1-6, and Mary chapters 7-12. While I stumbled over several names of King David's wives, brothers, sisters and near relations, Mary was faultless on the story of Bathsheba. It is thought the entire exercise will take about three weeks.
Cambridge City won their rugby match away against Stourbridge, but as Birmingham also won against Redruth, it still looks as if we'll end up in second place and miss out on promotion - robbed by the RFU who changed the rules in the middle of the season.
