A weekend of rugby and theatre. First, the big match - Cambridge beat Southend 31-22, putting us third in the table - giving us an outside chance of being promoted to Division One. However, as only one team will be promoted, it is, as I said, an outside chance. On Saturday evening, Mary and I went to Cambridge Arts Theatre to see Little Shop of Horrors. It was wonderful to see it being performed to a full house, and everyone clearly enjoying themselves. This is another Menier Chocolate Factory production, which is enjoying continued success under their producer David Babani - he currently has Sondheim's A Little Night Music and La Cage aux Folles in the West End, and other productions on tour. For those of you who've never visited the Chocolate Factory it's well worth the journey to Southwark - not only because the shows are of a high standard, but there's an excellent restaurant on the premises.
The other match being played last weekend was England v France, which produced seven tries and as much entertainment as anything at the theatre. The irony is that none of the press seem willing to point out if England beat Scotland next Saturday, and Ireland beat Wales in the final match of the Six Nations Championship, England will end up second in the table - which will feel rather strange after all the criticism the team has received over the past few months. However, we still have to win the Calcutta Cup on Saturday - and the Scots always enjoy spoiling our party. Cambridge will be playing Tynedale at home on Saturday, and we must win the match to have any hope of promotion.

i watched "the lives of others" after reading about it in your blog. time to reciprocate. i strongly recommend two movies. 1.before sunrise and 2.before sunset.and let me know your opinion after you see the movies (assuming that you have not seen it already)
